A hunt for the past...

I tried looking for this hawker centre for a few times. Initially, I thought that they might have demolished the hawker to make way for the newer buildings. However, I was wrong as I happened to come across the hawker again...

'Fried Hokkien Mee'
Reasons why I loved the food over here are as follows. For a start,
this stall isn't selling 1 or 2 types of food only, it works like a
typical 'Zi Char' stall, they have dishes like 'Hokkien Mee', 'Fried Kway
Teow', 'Fried Rice', 'Mui Fan', etc... Secondly, since this hawker is
located in a industrial area, the prices of the food that you are getting
here are pretty low and reasonable. On top of that, there's close to 20
different stores over here. And it's not restricted to merely Chinese
food only, there's Indian, Muslim, Japanese, etc...

As for the plate of 'Hokkien Mee' over here, not only the price is
reasonable, the taste is pretty acceptable too. There's a good mix
of 'Noodles' and the thicker type of 'Rice Vermicelli' topped with
generous portions of ingredients like 'prawns', slices of 'fish cakes',
'bean sprouts', etc... The whole plate of 'Noodles' might appear to
be a bit soupy, but in actual fact the 'Noodles' doesn't end up to be
too soggy. But always ask for a bigger portion of chilli to boast the
overall taste of the dish even further. :)

So where can you give the 'Hokkien Mee' a good try?
The name of this stall would be 'You Chai Cooked Food Stall'(有財熟食攤).
It's located inside 'Ayer Rajah Food Centre 1'.
